Cheshire Ploughing Match Returns to Ashley Hall Showgrounds.

Another one of Cheshire’s hidden treasures – have you ever been to the Cheshire Ploughing and Hedge laying competition?  

View age old traditions and cutting edge techniques hosted by the Tatton Estate on Wednesday 27^th September 2023 at Ashley Hall Showground. 

The Cheshire Ploughing and Hedge laying Society established the competition 100 years ago and now run training courses in ploughing and hedge laying in the winter months.

The day will consist of Shire horse and tractor ploughing classes, hedge laying competitions, machinery demonstrations, presidents luncheon, as well as many locally sourced food and drink stands on-site to enjoy. The competition starts at 10am and the site is open 9am to 4pm.  £20 admission.

If you live and work in rural locations, around farming and agriculture come along and chat to the many trade stands, with a whole range of skills, knowledge and experience to share.
